As someone who has been making music a long time but came to the public performance and sharing part much later than most - one of my favorite things about sharing my music is when it inspires someone else to set their voice free. It's what I think we all need to do to heal, connect, speak the truth, & love and live more generously. I have tools and techniques that I've used to fully shed my previously very physical and debilitating stage fright and I like helping people find their way through it.
I am in recovery from breast cancer - I've had a bilateral mastectomy (and hysterectomy due to fibroids and endometriosis) and am now taking "medical menopause" meds. I will openly connect with anyone about these things.
I met my soul dog, Taffy, when she was 8 and we fell in love instantly with daily frollics to the river together. Miles and I were lucky to spend her last 6 years soaking up her joy and silliness. She loved hanging out in our music studio. She sat in on every band rehearsal or solo writing session that took place there. She is gone but she is a big part of any song I've ever written.
I love how much songwriting, singing, playing music, playing with a band, connecting with music lovers, other artists, people of all ages, my community...and on and on....has changed my whole life.
Music has and always will be as essential to my feeling good and knowing myself. I feel connected to it and through it and want to share that feeling with anyone who finds it in my sound. My collaborators are all close friends and when I play with my bands it truly feels like we are sharing that love with everyone who joins us.
I live in New York state in the Hudson Valley, have a lifelong connection to the Berkshires and anywhere there's flowing water.
